Welcome to our unit on Narrative Writing!
Targets:

I can demonstrate the understanding of story elements through the successful completion of each activity.
I will be able to identify the characters, setting, problem, solution, beginning, middle and end of different stories.
I can apply what I've learned to: create a character map, a setting illustration, a problem/solution graphic organizer, a story map and my own piece of narrative writing that is clear and coherent.
I can write narratives that develop real or imagined experiences or events.
I will develop and strengthen my writing through pre-writing, proofreading, editing and revising.

YOUR FINAL PROJECT-
In this unit, you will be asked to "publish" your own story into a book format using a website: http://www.epubbud.com/new.php
You will be asked to work individually for this project and you will need to create one free account for your project.
You may NOT use names of student's in this classroom. Be creative and come up with new characters and a cohesive plot. You should type your story up in a word document before beginning to use epubbud.com.
There isn't a written minimum that I can give you for you to be able to tell your story when using epubbud, so you will need to have Mrs. Rosenbeck or myself check the rough draft before you publish the final draft to make sure the story is long enough. You should also have two other groups proofread your story before publishing.
Sample: http://www.epubbud.com/read.php?g=RVMHKVZW
Steps to complete:
1. Story Map http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/storymap/index.html

3. Self Evaluation Self Eval for Narrative Story.pdf
4. Peer Evaluation story_rubric.pdf
5. Self Edit/Proofread Narrative Story Self-Edit.docx
6. Peer Edit/Proofread Narrative Story Peer-Edit.docx
