Welcome to Mrs. Priaulx's (Pre-o) Online Classroom!

Happy New School Year! I am thrilled to be a part of the Riverview community and am looking forward to getting to know each of you over the upcoming school year. 

I would like to share some information regarding my biography.  I grew up in Waubeka, WI, which is the birthplace of our National holiday, Flag Day. You might say that my family and I are extremely patriotic and I am proud of that. We can often be found wearing red, white and blue clothing. I currently reside in Fredonia, WI, which is about 3 miles from where I was born. I swore I would never live there, but as I grew up I learned it was a great place to live. I live with my two long haired cats, Buie and JD, and my new puppy Romeo. He is a toy Aussiedoodle, which is a designer breed that crossed an Australian Shepherd with a Poodle. I consider my animals to be my children.

I also grew up riding horses and competed in many area and State horse shows. I still own my two horses, Duncan and Amos, and ride when I get the chance. In addition, my family owns a multitude of different animals, including chickens, turkeys, peacocks, sheep, a mini donkey, a mini horse and a pony.

Besides riding horses in my free time, I find the time to go boating with family and friends, play on a volleyball league (I look forward to Thursday nights in the summer!), read, watch television, shop, listen to music, play trivia and go running. I have been a runner my entire life and completed my first half marathon on January 15, 2011. I am constantly competing in area 5K's, 8K's, 10K's and am officially a 2012 Tough Mudder! I am also excited to be coaching Cross Country this year at Riverview.

My educational background is extensive. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, which is the study of human movement from UW-Milwaukee in 2006 and then enrolled in the Blue Sky School of Professional Massage and Therapeutic Bodywork where I became a certified massage therapist in 2008. Since then, I enrolled in the teacher certification program at Concordia University, where I completed the program and became licensed to teach grades 1-8 in June of 2011. During my studies, I student taught at Saukville Elementary School in fourth grade and at Northern Ozaukee Middle School in 7th and 8th grade science and social studies.  Since then, I have subbed in various school districts, including Random Lake, Cedarburg and Plymouth and took on a long-term substitute position in sixth grade here at Riverview last spring, where I taught language arts and social studies.

This year, I sincerely look forward to teaching 7th and 8th grade language arts and social studies! It will prove to be a wonderful year.
